This session will take a deeper look at Universal Design and Access for initiatives, low, and high challenge programming. It will start by taking a look at principals for programming (the WHY) and move forward with (the HOW). Specific examples from the Bradford Woods experience will be shared in an effort to transfer this learning to other courses.
- Disability awareness and general definitions (universal, inclusive, adapted, accessible) including principals for providing programming to all populations.
- Conversation, practice, and increased knowledge of initiatives and low/high challenge adaptations including a look at some basic gear that can be used on all courses.
- Interpret information and lessons learned to create a plan for your program, facility, staffing, and training.
