Join me as we work to understand the basics of the physical world, pertaining to challenge courses, through the universal language of mathematics. What do folks mean when they say ‘the forces’? Why does a patron REALLY travel down a zip line? What does a braking system ACTUALLY do? Learn the nitty gritty answers to these questions, and many more!

Learning Objectives:

  • Basic understanding of the relationship between energy and matter, and how they interact with everything in the universe.
  • Detailed understanding of the physics of a zip line and how it relates to their design.
  • Discussion of various structural design methodologies, with real-life examples to help explain what is occurring.
